What Does It Actually Mean To Be Fit? - You Don't Have To Be Ripped

So when everyone talks about how they want to get fit, what exactly does that mean? Well, that all depends on who the person is. For some, it means slimming down and being as lean as possible. For others, they are looking to bulk up with muscles.

First let’s take a look at the lean part. It is pretty common practice for people to want to lose weight when they get fit. Most people who are carrying the extra weight don’t really care about replacing it with muscle. If you are judging your success by how many pounds you have shed, you want to do a lot of cardio and go easy on the weight lifting.
